What an awesome Lomo LC-A anniversary year 2009 has been and it’s not over yet! As a special community treat we have an awesome line up of interviews day after day until the big one. Now we’d like to introduce you to
xbalboax, LC-A Race North American Team 1 member who fell in love all over again.

1. When did you get your first LC-A or LC-A+?

I got my first LC-A in April of 2004. It was a bundle deal where you buy the LC-A and a Free Pop 9 camera. I remember picking up the package on a Friday and taking it to my now in-laws house to show my wife. I feel in love instantly and shot my first roll in about 10 minutes. Ill never forget the smell of the LC-A.

2. Tell us your greatest Lomographic experience with your LC-A or LC-A+ camera?

I have had so many great Lomographic experiences with my LC-A and LC-A+, from doing swaps with countless Lomographers to meeting up and becoming close friends with fellow Lomographers and of course being published in the GIANT LC-A book! If I had to choose just one experience, it defiantly would have to be taking place in the Great LC-A Race. I am part of North American Team 1 and I was the first to go. I shot so much and really immersed myself in the camera. I really fell in love with the LC-A+ all over again.

3. Which of the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography most applies to your shooting style and why?

A little of all the rules combined but mostly Rule # 3 Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it!

4. How would your life be different if you’d never discovered the LC-A or LC-A+?

Wow that’s a good question. For one I would most definitely have a lot more money in my bank account. Honestly though my life would be very different. I mean I would still be shooting, but not with the same mentality. Lomography and the LC-A has become my life. I never go anywhere with out the camera.

5. Here’s the scene: your somewhere in the world with your LC-A+, a sack of your favorite film, and your best friend in
the whole world… where are you and why?

That’s easy; I would be in Kabukicho documenting the craziness that is Japan’s seedy underbelly. Now only if I had a time machine to go back to the 1960s/70s and see what it was really like back then.

6. What advice would you give someone who is thinking about getting an LC-A+ and not sure?

Don’t think just buy it, you wont regret it!
