Find yourself lost in the hustle and bustle of London? Head on to the West End and look for Adam to help you out with all things art and analogue!
We recently had a chat with adamscott who’s in charge of the newly opened Lomography London Gallery. Interested to know what’s happening across the pond? Here’s a brief Q&A about all things London and Lomo!
Name the top 5 things a new customer will think about upon entering the London Gallery store.
We know the store is new, but is there a funny, weird or surreal experience you’ve had so far?
I leave the weird and surreal to the visitors… I just make sure no one freaks out with analogue ecstasy all over the cameras!
How is the analogue scene in London so far?
It’s very strong. People here know that it’s time to take more control of their creative ideas. Analogue cameras and Lomographic tools are the answer!
From your time manning the Gallery, are there any Lomographic practices that are undeniably British?
British? We’re in central London here. I’m not sure if a British person has come in yet! I’m not even sure if British people still exist!?
Anyone famous so far who has graced the walls of the Gallery?
Apparently so… some famous radio presenters but I would never know. We did have a guy in yesterday who looked like, acted like and sounded like a famous American Hip Hop star, but he could have just been an average New Yorker. Oh lets not forget about Garry Neville!! (most of you might wonder who that is and the others probably hate him)
In your own humble opinion, who are London’s own Lomographic superstars as well as diamonds in the rough, shooters who’ll make waves some day?
I’m waiting for them to tell me!! I want all London Lomographers to pop into the Gallery Store and show me who they are!
All work and no play makes an incredibly boring day! So tell us more about the London Gallery staff and what you do for fun!
Fun? We work at the Lomography Gallery Store Lodnon! We have responsibilities you know!
What’s in the London Gallery’s playlist right now?
Reggae as a tag on Spotify as it’s raining outside so we need some ROOTS!
What is the Gallery’s vision and who would you like to collaborate with down the road?
Vision? A constant stream of workshops and events. Bands Playing outside on the street, competitions, exhibitions and parties! We would like to collaborate a lot with local designers as the area we are in is very inspiring. The Newburgh Quarter is packed with cool!
Do you have any upcoming events up your sleeve for London?
We are working on the November workshop schedule now and then it’s Christmas so December will be all about giving!
