Lomography

The laboratory has been recently disturbed with a series of case studies begging to be examined. Lab Rat novices wondered aloud on the Lomography blog. about the effects of body processes on film emulsions. Without a smidge of hesitation, we sent out our volunteers on three highly-delicate missions. View the reports at your own risk.

The Fingerprinting Process

The conventional law says you should keep your hands off film negatives, but this technique screwed the rule with a nasty fingerprint.
Take a piece of negative and dip your finger into the substance of your choice (we used cigarette ash and red stamp pad ink).

Firmly press your finger onto the negative.
Wait to dry before scanning for results.

The “don’t bite off more than you can” chew method

Previously, we crumpled a negative with one mighty fist. This one was carefully executed with teeth impressions.

We cut out a bit if pre-shot negative and bit down on it for a while.
Scan for results.

The Urinvestigation

This particular experiment was undertaken for benefit of science and progress at the behest of xbalboax, who said…

“A friend once told me that if you pee on the film before you develop it you get some crazy effects. Never tried it but I’m sure the urine will have a nice effect on the film. Bathe the film in liquid waste – surely there must be some sort of a chemical reaction.”

Polite Warning: If you ever want to develop film in your town again… we would STRONGLY suggest you develop this little film surprise yourself!

1. Leave your pre-shot colour negative film in a container.
2. Add the fresh urine – enough to cover the roll of film. (We used Agfa Pro 200 colour neg. film).
3. Cover and leave for about 24 hours in a place it will not be disturbed, knocked over or could cause a nasty shock.
4. Develop. We strongly recommend HOME C-41 development

Results:

Believe it or not this images were shot on colour negative film and developed using normal C41 colour processing. The greenish cross-processed look is the work of 100% organic, fresh liquid waste! Isn’t Mother Nature wonderful!
