Today the first *location of the week* award will be given out. Each week we will go through some of the best locations published and mention why we think these may interest you. It may be because the author found something especially interesting or because the photographs were particularly stunning or went to some hidden corner of the earth.
Today the first location of the week award will be given out. Each week we will go through some of the best locations published and mention why we think these may interest you. It may be because the author found something especially interesting or because the photographs were particularly stunning or went to some hidden corner of the earth.
Last week we asked for some specific locations, including Eastern Europe, Midwestern USA and mainland China. We got some responses and they are either online or will be coming on soon. Thank you for those.
All in all, these are are locations that we though are worth a special mention this week. Starting with graefin’s entry on an analogue Photoautomat in Hamburg
On the other side of the world eazy360 brought the spotlight to a backpacker heaven in Bangkok. The pictures does a great job a depicting the modern lifestyle combined with the traditional market.
And most importantly, the “location of the week” prize goes to hanspan for her efforts to take a moment out of her life and have a deeper look at the city she grew up in. She found a new perspective of her home town, York, as she states that she “got a real sense of fulfillment from looking up” instead of feet rushing from A to B.
For her efforts she is about to receive a badge for her lomohome as well as 10 piggies. Read about York here
This weeks featured theme will therefore be to stop and take a look at your home town. Breathe out, take the long way home, and snap away. This is something everyone can do, and I hope we will all discover something new just around the corner :)

wow! This is a great idea!!
York is definitely worth a visit! For sure! Sometimes the best location is right in front of you and you don't even notice it.
Thanks for mentioning me. And: can I add some more pictures to the Photoautomat-Lomolocation? I have new ones ;)

Great locations from graefin, eazy360 & hanspan! The award is well deserved, because sometimes you don't need to go far to discover new things, just have a different look at what your eyes are used too...! :)))
And I will try to make some new location about Nice and my everyday surrounding... even if I already made 13 location exclusively about my city ... but there's surely a few others to do!! :))))

@vicuna: my home"town" is a village and I already have two locations ;). mmmh I guess it's not that easy to write more about it :D. Nice is MUCH bigger *g*

question 2: There are still so many lomolocation on the old lomolocation website - when will you transfer them? Will you transfer them?!

@ several people:)
unfortunately you can not submitt more images to existing entries yet, but good idea!
@ graefin
yes, the old lomolocations will be transfered, but with so many other things happening at the moment it will take just a little bit longer
hanspan
can we have a random location button? like that of the random lomohomes?
please!??!?!?!
graefin
@lucas: oh what a pity :( sometimes there are so many new pics to add to a location cause you've been there a second time.

@ lucasjakobsson:
I have to agree with the others, it would be awesome if we could submit new shots to a previous location entry and also maybe other users than the author could upload complementing shots to a user gallery like the ones in the camera & film sections...
Ah wait, I just realised, if you add the user gallery functionality to lomolocations, then there's really no need for anything else, we'll just add new shots to the user gallery instead of to the original location gallery...
