LomoLocations Map Unveiled

One of the reasons that the whole website is being relaunched is to be able to introduce more wonderful functions and gadgets that will make your stay at our webspace more enjoyable. One such gadget is being unveiled today.

One of the reasons that the whole website is being relaunched is to be able to introduce more wonderful functions and gadgets that will make your stay at our webspace more enjoyable. One such gadget is being unveiled today.

All the locations that appear in the magazine have been plotted on a global map for you. Large parts of it has already been filled so feel free to take a look. With this map we hope that it will become easier for you to find the reviews that you are searching for, be it out of curiosity or for research for your next trip.

As for the empty spaces, they are waiting to be filled by you. Simply submit an entry for publication, and once an editor has had a quick glance over it, it will be added to the map. It is our will to fill the map, hence be on the look out for incentives.

Don’t be selfish, share the world through a Lomo lens!

That's pretty cool! But is it possible to re-place the dots? One of my locations (Dropzone Airport Luetzellinden) isn't placed correctly (I could send coordinates or a screenshot with the correct location if you want). I think it would be good if there were a field for the coordinates in the submit form.
Oh, and did you already mark all locations on the map? Cause one of my locations (Frankfurt Eastend) is missing.

    @ gemma81de

Yes it is possible to replace the dots, unfrotunatley it has to be done by someone at LSI. It will be relocated shortly, and please drop a comment with the correct location.

All of the published locations have not been added to the map but they will be, please endure a little bit more :)

I am using Safari 1.3 on a Mac OSX. I still can't see it with this version of Safari, but every other browser works fine.

I like the picture ... my guess is it was shot with a Horizon looking north from the CN tower in Toronto.

I added a location with a few extra pictures thinking I could delete the extraneous ones, but I was wrong. The extras were shot around the area of interest, but I would have preferred to remove them.

How do we know when a submission has been approved?

    @ gvelasco

As an editor has to check a submission before it is posted online it can take a few days for your submission to be published. At the moment there is no notification that lets you know when a post has been published so for the present Im afraid you will have to check in the magazine.

With Mozzilla i can do it...some observation about dots location: 1) the location FROM SAPA to BAC HA is close to Lao Cai close to chinese boarder and not close to Da Nang, which is more in the south; 2) Chau Doc is not in Cambodia close to Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) but in Vietnam close to the boarder between Vietnam and Cambodia...
    thank u
    waiting for other locs

So I was touring the new map (which is fantastic by the way), and noticed a button in the genreal Montreal area with a location labeled 'Bourbon Street'. Thinking it was interesting that there would be a Bourbon Street in Canada, I clicked on it and found that it was indeed the (in)famous Bourbon Street of New Orleans, only placed waaay up north and probably at this point a little chilly. Same goes for the Voodoo spiritual temple location. Just thought someone might want to know...
