London Lomography Thursday Coup the Second

The Photographers’ Gallery, photographic heartbeat of London, was the home for this month's London Lomography Thursday. A crazy, lovely, passionate bunch of Lomographers - some sparkling new, others humbly notorious - royally snuggled in together to be introduced to the latest addition to the Lomographic camera family: the Diana F+ and it’s accessory fisheye lens.

The Photographers’ Gallery, photographic heartbeat of London, was the home for this month’s London Lomography Thursday. A crazy, lovely, passionate bunch of Lomographers – some sparkling new, others humbly notorious – royally snuggled in together to be introduced to the latest addition to the Lomographic camera family: the Diana F+ and it’s accessory fisheye lens.

Shutter Finger Heaven

These collected faces, glowing in expectance of what was about to be revealed, were introduced to Diana’s closet skeletons by Lomographic Queen scootiepye: the craziest of tricks, the most secret of tips and the hidden rules of Lomographic Rejoice.

Armed with this newfound knowledge, the canny Lomographers disguised themselves for rather noble portraits of the extraordinaire. What a crazy fun loving bunch! There was The Queen, Princess Lusardi, PC Plod, Ra Ra Girl and Woody the Cowboy amongst the varied and many personalities present in the firing line up. Shutter finger heaven!

Strut in the City

A Tad later that night the group stepped out into the summer evening for a Lomography adventure walk with the noise and sweaty street stench of Leicester Square and on to the huge monument dedicated to our British Hero Lord Nelson. A family of ducks were waiting for us in the fountains to be snapped (all pre-arranged naturally, as nothing is impossible!).
They felt compelled to stop and hug trees whilst ambling through the leafy green St. James Park as night evolved slowly.

The Best Must Come to an End

At their final destination, Buckingham Palace, they were disappointed upon being refused entry to Her Majesty’s abode, especially since the Lomographers gang wanted to show her the new and improved Diana F+. Instead, a little night cap rounded off the evening and everyone said their farewells to the new Lomographic friends, waving and gazing with slightly misty eyes and calling out fond goodbyes and see-you-next-months.

This was London Lomography’s second trick, But the third shall follow quick!

The next London Lomography Thursday is yet again at the Photographers’ Gallery on June 5, 2008.
