Team Manila, a graphic design studio based in Manila, Philippines recently launched a Lomographic group exhibit at the Lomo Embassy Manila.
“Experience modern-day story telling in My Story in Lomography — a Lomographic exhibition by Team Manila featuring square-format photography by emerging local Lomographers.
The said exhibition focuses on the sundry persons which comprise the community that is bound by one love and passion that is Lomography. From random quirks to the most heartfelt emotions, My Story in Lomography shares with us minutes and fragments of these people’s lives through sets and series of Lomographs.
So take a glimpse into their world. Flip through the pages of their diverse yet somehow intertwined lives within and beyond Lomography."
Upon entering the venue, colorful squares tiled up the walls, with short stories accompanying the sets of the medium-format photos. Inside the Lomo Embassy’s main area, people were busy casting their votes for their favorite photos. Some were relaxing at the sofa, drinking cocktails, and enjoying the music and beats provided by Caliph8. Of course, some people came to shop, too!
The photo that garnered the most number of votes belonged to Everywhere We Shoot, who won a Diana F+ camera. Bong Rojales, president of Lomomanila, won 2nd place. Lucky voters also had the chance to win Lomo notebooks, and the Diana F+ camera.
Exhibit runs until May 23, 2008.
