  • Rainbow Reykjavík

    Rainbow Reykjavík
I never did such a planned travel with a travel organisation before – normally I prefer organizing all on my own, so that I can always decide how long to stay at any place. But the program of Pink Iceland seemed really great! And on our last Iceland holidays we hadn't seen that much of the Party Scene in Reykjavík – one reason more to join the group: they planned some really nice evenings for us!
  • Winter Wonderland Memories: Reykjavik

    Winter Wonderland Memories: Reykjavik
I've been living in Reykjavik for five years now. I've seen storms, blizzards, and all kinds of weather here. Winters usually are mild but stormy and snow isn't a frequent guest. Surprisingly, this year winter is quite different.
  • Reykjavik 101.40 (and around...) Iceland

    Reykjavik 101.40 (and around...) Iceland
I'm a new lomographic photographer, discovering the Diana with fun and lot of pleasure!!! i brought my camera to Iceland, taking pictures with no idea if some would work or not... (well, everybody knows that the Diana is a bit capricious... definitely fun, but capricious...). i enjoyed moving in reykjavik and around trying to remember what i shot, switching from a digital photographer mind to a new one, loading films and taking them off with the feeling that something good was going on... this was my first rolls with a plastic camera...
  • Fáskrúðarbakkakirkja, Iceland

    Fáskrúðarbakkakirkja, Iceland
The National Church of Iceland or as we Icelandic tourist say "Þjóðkirkjan", is truly Lutheran. As so there is not much of the glamor and the whole „passion of the Christ“ hollywoodesque show you maybe would expect in catholic regions. No, Iceland is rough and plain and so are the churches.
  • Snæfellsjökul - Glacier Cold

    Snæfellsjökul - Glacier Cold
Ever been to a Stratovulcano? No? You don't even know what it is? Common! Stay with me and climb onto one of the madest glaciers of Iceland.
  • Viðey Island: Imagine Peace

    Viðey Island: Imagine Peace
Viðey is a small island, just a five-minute boat ride from Reykjavik. Today it is best known for the Imagine Peace Tower - a memorial to John Lennon from Yoko Ono.
  • Iceland Airwaves 2010

    Iceland Airwaves 2010
A music festival in downtown Reykjavík where some of the world's most exciting bands play alongside Icelandic artists!
  • Our Little Trip: Hvaleyri

    Our Little Trip: Hvaleyri
Hvaleyri is a flat, ear-shaped peninsula at the south shore of Hvalfjörður in Iceland. It's a perfect place to take a walk by the seaside, enjoy beautiful landscape, and observe birds.
  • Hallgrímskirkja, Iceland

    Hallgrímskirkja, Iceland
Since Reykjavik is a very small capital you really can walk to Hallgrímskirkja on foot. And hence it’s so huge you probably see the tip of it from every point of the city. Interesting how the Icelandic people deal with religion. Surely it means a great deal to the people if you live on a cold rock with nothing on but ice. But with their special and awkwardly great sense for style and design they have set their mark even on the architecture of sacred places.
  • Cosy Cabin, My Favorite Location for a Christmas Vacation

Cosy Cabin, My Favorite Location for a Christmas Vacation
My most favorite thing to do for a Christmas vacation is to leave Reykjavik and spend some time in a cabin. Nature, lovely company, great food, board games, and my camera...this is the best combination for a great vacation!
  • Reykjavik

    Reykjavik
A city of just over 120,000, home to almost half of the population of Iceland, Reykjavik is a modern European city with traditional charm, offering a little of everything to a wandering traveler. The cafes serve wonderful coffee, delicious chocolate cake and cold Viking beer.
  • Elliðaárdalur: My Favorite Patch of Greenery in Reykjavik

Elliðaárdalur: My Favorite Patch of Greenery in Reykjavik
It's not a big secret that there aren't many trees in Iceland. Even one of the country’s oldest jokes is: "What do you do if you get lost in an Icelandic forest?" - "Stand up." Luckily the situation is changing. Elliðaárdalur is a great example of reforestation.
  • Sunny Days in Downtown Reykjavik

    Sunny Days in Downtown Reykjavik
These are a collection of pictures I snapped with my trusty Holga while chilling out with my my friends in downtown Reykjavik.
  • Blue Lagoon

    Blue Lagoon
Iceland surely is a strange place. One of the most astonishing sites is the blue lagoon. Well. It's a hot thermal source. But it's more than that. It lay in the middle of a field of volcanic stones, a rough moon-like field. The Bath is close to the seaside, that's why there are Sea-Minerals in the water and on you. It's a habit to put a white mineral-paste on you skin.
  • Borgarbókasafns Reykjavíkur, Reykjavik City Library

    Borgarbókasafns Reykjavíkur, Reykjavik City Library
The Reykjavik City Library is one of my favorite places in the town. I seek shelter there when I need some peace and quiet. It is also a great place to see the works of local artists, rent a movie or have some coffee while reading magazines from all over the world.

    Воспоминания зимней сказки: Рейкьявик
(Please note, this article is in another language)

(Please note, this article is in another language)

    Reykjavik Teil 7: Café Laundromat
(Please note, this article is in another language)
Einkaufen macht durstig!
