  • Port of Nice

    Port of Nice
The port of Nice is one of my favorite place to shoot. It's a very inspiring place, not only because it's a wide open space in front of the sea, but also because there are always a lot of new big ships to see, prestigious old sailboats or impressing giant cruisers.
  • Torino Olympic Village

    Torino Olympic Village
The Olympic village is built around the former general markets (Mercati Generali), which date back to 1934. It was designed to house up to 2500 athletes during the 2006 winter Olympics, providing also all kind of services to the athletes.
  • Englishman’s Promenade

    Englishman’s Promenade
The Promenade des Anglais (literally the Englishman's promenade) is one of the main places to see if you stay in Nice. It's the whole coastal pedestrian walk along the seafront in Nice where you can admire the beautiful landscape of what is called the Baie des Anges, the Angel's bay.
  • Islands of Lérins

    Islands of Lérins
The islands of Lérins are 2 little islands in the bay of Cannes, only 15 min by boat from the port of Cannes. Go until the end of the port and take one of the 2 companies who make the trips to the islands (see the links). Make a nice little journey to these islands which are a nature protected area and not touched by all the constructions and mass-tourism of the whole Cote d'Azur.
  • Mont Macaron

    Mont Macaron
It's an 800 m high mountain in the close vicinity of Nice. A beautiful place to see the blue Mediterranean Sea and the city of Nice on one side and Alps on the other. In spring, you can even see sometimes the snow on the mountains in front of the sea! Old ruins of a castle from middle-ages are on top of this mountain. The place is great, romantic and sometimes windy with a very large panorama from the Alps to the sea. You could find many places for picnic, to play football, to relax and dream. Many families are coming there on week-ends to enjoy the place. I like to go there to take photos. It's a great inspiration, between the ruins and the landscape to shoot with any cam.
  • La Turbie’s Trophy

    La Turbie’s Trophy
Only two Roman Trophys still remain nowadays: one of them is in Adamklissi, Romania (150 km from Bucharest) and the "Trophée dAuguste", in la Turbie, France, on the road from Nice to Monaco (it is in fact the former roman Via Julia Augusta).
  • Millefont Lake

    Millefont Lake
The Lake of Millefont is a beautiful place to take a walk, see nature, relax and take pictures. It's in the pre-alps, about 70 km from the coast of the Cote d'Azur and the city of Nice. You must leave Nice following the river Var, along the N202 road (west side of the city, near the airport). This road is the direct way to the mountains and you can quickly be in mountainous landscape and still see the Mediterranean Sea :).
  • Skate Park Piazza Zara

    Skate Park Piazza Zara
In Turin we have something like 4 or 5 skate parks, but all of them are really small and looking quite the same (I can't wait to go shoot and ride the brand new concrete bowl they have just built in the North of the city)... Not much stuff to ride on and not a great background, nevertheless they can be quite a cool spot to shoot skate or bmx riding, even more when the kids of the neighborhood organize a funny little Saturday contest with all the local buddies riding and chilling around!
  • Airport of Nice

    Airport of Nice
If you come to Nice by plane, you'll be very quickly fascinated by what you see. Sure, whenever you arrive - during daytime or at night, the view of the Cote d'Azur by plane is always fascinating, but the airport to which you arrive is also a very interesting building! The T2 terminal is one of the recently constructed airports by a French architect Paul Andreu (see the links) who made a lot of great airport buildings around the world (and many other interesting constructions) and who designed this new building for Nice international airport who was inaugurated year 2002.
  • Lake of Sainte Croix

    Lake of Sainte Croix
When we organized our little Lomo-meeting with golfpunkgirl and stoonja, we met at the lake of Sainte Croix, one of the favorite spots of stoonja. We took the A8 highway from Nice, and came out at the exit "Brignoles", then, about 50 km through little country roads up in the mountains, we suddenly we discovered the place: a beautiful blue lake in an amazing landscape full of very different colors.
  • Media Library

    Media Library
The media library of Antibes Juan-Les-Pins is located in the city centre of Antibes. It was designed by Mr Pierre Riboulet, and opened its doors in December 2006. It is a space focused on reading and music, a place for life, exchanging and meeting.
  • Gardens of Cimiez

    Gardens of Cimiez
The gardens of Cimiez, near of the Monastery (see other location) is a beautiful place for relaxing in a green and quiet space in the city. The main part of this garden is an olive grove where you can rest under the shadow of a giant and very old olive-tree, and take a little sunbath and pictures too! The place is well known for the people of Nice, and on week-ends you'll see all families coming with their picnic and the children are playing football, frisbee, etc.... The second part of the garden is more a "rose grove" where you can admire the great flowers the monks are cultivating since the XVIth century and admire also the great view over the whole east-side of the city of Nice. The point of view from this hill over the city is just great, and that is why the Romans founded their first city on this hill (named "Cemenellum") in the 4th century.... If you're in Nice during the summer, don't miss the Nice Jazz Festival taking place in the Olive grove of Cimiez, with great musicians in a beautiful place!
  • Graffiti Fabric

    Graffiti Fabric
A little while ago, I went to shoot in an abandoned textile factory (see in my other locations)... As it was great fun and gave me really cool pics, I've been looking for other similar places to go with my cameras!
  • Mamac

    Mamac
The MAMAC (Museum of Modern Art and Contemporary Art) was created by the architects Yves Bayard and Henri Vidal, and was inaugurated on June/ 21/ 1980. It is located at the centre of Nice, in the heart of Acropolis. It consists of four towers of 20 meters which are connected by glazed footbridges on a height of 30 metres. The buildings have 4000 m² for nine showrooms on three levels, plus a level terrace. It's a very nice building and I like to take pics of it.
  • Theatre de Verdure

    Theatre de Verdure
The "Theatre de Verdure" in Nice is a beautiful park and concert place in this city. Located just in front of the sea, and very close to the charming old city, it's a perfect place for summer festivals and concerts.
  • Saint-Paul de Vence

    Saint-Paul de Vence
Whenever I'm talking to people from other countries, as I say that I come from Italy everybody goes like "Wow, it must be a dream! The history, the food, the sun, the sea...". Well, it's not exactly like that. While the first two might be found everywhere in the "Bel Paese", in my region we don't have much sun, and we definitely have no sea either. Although I was lucky enough to discover a true gem not too far from the gray city I live in - Saint-Paul de Vence!
  • Littoral Path of Cap d'Ail

    Littoral Path of Cap d'Ail
There's a beautiful path along the coast going from Cap d'Ail to Monaco. The starting point is Mala Beach at Cap d'Ail (near Monaco, see other location about this place) were you can take a little path through the rocks and who is leading you to Monaco.
  • Short track ice skating, Torino

    Short track ice skating, Torino
A few weeks ago I went to see a competition of short track ice skating. Short track is a kind of speed skating which is ran on a standard ice rink (hockey rink size) instead of a bigger rink as used in long track speed skating...
  • Donkey Festival

    Donkey Festival
This event is unique in South of France, a special day to discover all kinds of donkeys in a pretty small town between Nice and Digne on the Napoleon Road. This is about two hours from Nice in a small town built on the rocks. Situated on the pre-Alpes, you can still discover truly sympathetic and kind people far from the French Riviera atmosphere. All the habitants of Escragnolles and the communes around are participating to this event.
  • Monaco

    Monaco
Sunshine capital... The country of luxury and incredible yachts... Yes, Monaco (Principality of Monaco) is the place to go indeed. It is a constitutional monarchy and city-state in Western Europe located along the French Riviera between the Mediterranean Sea and France (not to mention, that Italy is also just in reach of a hand).
