New Athos is a town of Abkhazia, situated some 22 km from Sukhumi by the shores of the Black Sea. The town was previously known under the names Nikopol, Acheisos, Anakopia, Nikopia, Nikofia, Nikopsis, Absara, Psyrtskha.

The Black Sea, subtropical vegetation, wild rivers, and peaks of the Caucasus, these are the first things that come to mind when I think about Abhazii. Unfortunately, the seaside, spa, and mountain resorts of this republic are experiencing hard times, but are all still highly recommended tourist attractions.

Черное море, субтропическая растительность, бурные реки и вершины Кавказа, это первое, что приходит на ум, когда я думаю о Абхазии. К сожалению, море, санатории, и горнолыжные курорты этой республики переживают трудные времена, но все же природа здесь прекрасна.
