In the heart of Seoul, City Hall, it is concentrated with administrative departments and high rises. Despite of the modernization, admiringly, it is surrounded by cultural heritage and nature elements.

On New Year's Day in Korea, I went to Namsan Seoul Tower. Usually I never go to a place that is near me, but when I started shooting with films, I started to go around, place to place, and while Namsan Seoul Tower should have been the first place I visited, I went there last instead. This is Namsan with multi-exposures, enjoy! :)

Although the five old palaces in Seoul have been a great background for a history filled with ups and downs, the centre of it all is Gyeongbok Palace. At sunset, the gates had always been closed, but since October 2012, they already started opening it at night.

We spent a fun afternoon in the largest indoor theme park in the world. This amusement park is called "Lotte World". The recreation complex also has an outdoor part called "Magic Island".

Do you like visiting the market? What about a fish market? The Noryangjin Fish Market is the largest fish market in Seoul and has been selected by the Seoul Metropolitan Government as one of the top 100 must-see sights in Seoul City!

What a better way to spend New Year's day than taking a historic hike along the great walls of Namhansanseong Fortress in southern Seoul. Following the fortress wall that snake eight km along the peaks of Namhan Mountain, we spent the day hiking through massive gates and around Buddhist temples, and to top it off, some spectacular views of New Year's Day in Seoul.

Sometimes, living in Seoul or being a tourist in Seoul, you need to take a break from the high-rise apartments, neon lights, and crowds. If you need a bit of downtime, it's worth having a wander around the 14th century palaces and their surrounding areas to discover a bit of old-style Korea.

Kyunghee University’s Seoul campus is considered as the most beautiful campus in the Korean nation. In the spring, the cherry blossom trees bloom lushly around the campus, making walking to school a pleasurable experience rather than a dreary drudge.

I first read about Coffeest Café on the blog, discoveringkorea.com which all travellers planning a trip to Korea should read before their trip. It touted Coffeest as one of the best cafes in Seoul so how could I not include it on my list of cafes to visit?

One of the highlights of my year was my solo Seoul sojourn last September. It served as a late birthday present for myself, and is actually something that I've always wanted to do - given the time (and money). Here are snippets of my trip to Seoul as told through photographs taken by my Instax Wide.

First Korean branch of French bakery,Paul in Seoul.

Just south of Seoul’s international airport, lies the beautiful but tiny Muuido Island. Its proximity to Seoul makes it a popular destination for tourists and day trippers alike who visit the island to hike up some small mountains, relax at the beach and chow down on some delicious fresh seafood.

In the northern reaches of Seoul, Bukhansan National Park - 북한산국립공원- spreads its rocky wings over 78.45 km and 6 districts of Seoul. I spent a day hiking to the highest peak Baegundae -백운대, which at 837m gives you the most spectacular view of Seoul below.

Want to be hardcore? Want to test your endurance? Then why not climb a 1,157.2 m (3,797 ft) mountain in the middle of the snowy winter cold. And why not get lost in the mountain while you are at it, hiking through the fresh snow only to end up at a Buddhist temple where monks proceed to give you chocolate and drive you off the mountain. Yup, my hike on Yongmunsan Mountain (용문산) just 45km out of Seoul, definitely gave us an exciting day trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Months before, during the planning of our trip, we chanced upon the mention of Seoul Forest in one of the Seoul guide books. We have never heard of it and we were intrigued that it has an eco-forest where there were deers!

I really like cherry blossoms. Specially, the cherry blossoms are fantastic April in Korea.

It is most likely the one border that is constantly in the focus of the world. The demarcation line between North and South Korea is always hot and edgy. You better hold your horses and don’t get silly, because the soldiers have their finger on the trigger. But beside from that, the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in South Korea can also be considered as a political version of Disneyland.
