I arrived at the ancient city of Pegan in Burma (Myanmar) from Mandalay. My overloaded bus pulled up a dusty unsealed road and stopped outside a ramshackle hotel. It was hard to believe that Pegan was one of the premier tourist sights in South East Asia.

Cheguei à ancestral cidade de Pegan na Birmânia vindo de Mandalay. O carro vinha mais que cheio através de uma estrada poeirenta e parou ao lado de um hotel em ruínas. Foi difícil acreditar que Pegan é um dos principais locais turisticos no sudeste asiático.
