My friends and I had a day off from school one Monday, so we decided to spend some time away from our mundane lives by getting out of the house, and getting some fresh air! So of course, we decided to abandon city life for a day, and embrace the untamed and wild nature of our neighboring island, Pulau Ubin.

The last weekend I had slept in so many places I could not remember all of them...It was possible to sleep all the way to Tioman: blue chairs at the jetty. In the ferry. In the taxi. And finally, in a hammock by the beach, ooh lala!

I always thought Singapore had no exciting, worth-visiting flea markets to offer, until the day I visited this place. Forget about the beautiful, colorful shopping buildings in Orchard Road or the largest indoor shopping center, Vivo City, because a trip to the Thieves Market in Singapore is worth so much more of your time.

Chinatown in Singapore has always been one of my favourite places, and what I love best is taking a leisurely walk around the area, soaking in the sights and sounds. During Chinese New Year, the place bustles with people and activity and this year is no exception. This time, my LC-A+ joined me in my trip, and a surprise encounter made my day.

My colleagues and I love spending time outdoors with nature, and for our latest outing, we chose MacRitchier Reservoir. A few of us have not been there before and we would like to explore one of the quiet places in this city.

One hot and sunny day, curiosity got the better of me and I decided to go explore my workplace’s surroundings during my lunch time. Photos captured had the full redscale range from dark orange to a tinge of green.

A couple of friends and I were trying to think of a good hideaway for the weekend and decided to visit somewhere close to nature: Hort Park. It is a quaint park nestled near the harbor front in Singapore with endearing horticulture and shrubs.

If you travelling to Malaysia, I most recommend Malacca. This is because it is a great to visit, with its rich historical and cultural background from previous Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. The centre of city was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in year 2008.

Speaking of Yong Siak Street, it is not an alien place to the young bloggers and adults. Yong Siak Street is located in the vicinity of Tiong Bahru district.

Once infamous for being Singapore's main hooker quarters, Keong Saik Road is now a sleepy place by day, stretching from Chinatown to Tanjong Pagar, this long road boasts of Chinese-style merchants, famous food places, Peranakan shophouses and a meander to the lesser known side streets with well-preserved heritage buildings that are carefully and wonderfully restored.

Getting away from the maddening crowd can be hard in an island city state. Yet, there are still plenty of spots around this little red dot for some peace and quiet, if you know where to find them.

When something calls for a celebration, we will feast with this particular game dish from China - Peking Duck!

Say hello to the roaring Lion City! For this week’s edition of Lomography Day Trips, the spotlight’s on that little-big city state in Southeast Asia: Singapore!

It’s not exactly the best kept secret among Singapore’s yuppie crowd, but this is a great place for analogue lovers to share a meal – be it for a special day or whatever the reason.

As a Lomographer, you know that you won’t want to follow the beaten track. Likewise, you want something and perhaps, somewhere interesting to bring your date for a dinner to remember.

Singapore is known as a beautiful and romantic country. This is especially true when it comes to witnessing the sunrise. Since Singapore is an island surrounded by sea, capturing the sunrise is definitely easier.

Come join me and my Lomo LC-A+ as we showcase what Singapore has to offer in this two-part series. I don’t know any other city quite like this where luscious green nature co-exists with huge towering man-made structures. The first part shows the more floral persona of this glorious city.
