And as every tournament of such scale helps to build an lasting infrastructure it is the stadiums that are the first stars of the cup. One of the most impressive ones is the capetown stadium.

If you are ever in Cape town, and it happens to be a foggy day, and you have no car,here is what you can do. Start in City or Bo-Kaap, go up Kloof Nek Road. It 's always up, about an hour or so, but it's quite picturesque road full of beautiful residential houses, parks and real Chocolate Factory (worth stopping at it's shop for real local made dark chocolate).

If you think that Cape town is all about Table Mountain and the oceans- it's not true. It has a CITY, too. The one which looks the same as the London one, or any other. With high building, big squares, but- almost empty.

Up the winding roads and around the beautiful bays lie Chapmans Peak. Pack a bottle of wine, some snacks, and a couple of cameras. Stop often as there is a photo opportunity around every bend.

This is the most famous and the highest table in the world, you can't dine on this table, instead you are the food for the GOD!!! I'm just making a joke here what I'm trying to tell you here is the mountain that has a flat plateau and it was named like that because of its form.

If you are wandering around the cape peninsula, make sure that you stop and take a look at our penguin Colony down at Boulders Beach. Many people don’t realise it but Capetown is home to the jackass penguin, at about 40cm high, these little guys are too cute to miss.

Camps Bay Beach is a popular beach set against the mountains of Cape Town. It's a short drive from the city center and is well-known for its white sand fringed with palm trees and its busy beachfront cafes.

A climb a day keeps the doctor at bay - this mountain is run up by some people every morning before they go to work as it offers you views, scenery, and a vast amount of fresh air. I did this walk for the first time and need not ask why they chose this hike over a gym any day. It is truly spectacular!
