Hungry for Film with LomoKino LomoAmigo Tomkiddo

Unlike others, he wasn't amused of the LomoKino at first sight. It didn't catch much of his attention even if little curiosity was already playing inside his head.

But he has come to it and have learned to love the analogue movie maker. Along with this, he has also learned a few tips and tricks that eventually became essential to his movie making! We’ve loved his Lomographs and now it is time to give some to his LomoKino films. Meet our LomoKino LomoAmigo, tomkiddo from Malaysia!

Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

I’m a 17-year-old boy and a student. I paint and I write. I’m into mythology, spiritualism and divination. I’m an amateur tarot card reader. I read a lot. I love visting bookstores and buying books, books are the most wonderful things in the world!

Describe the LomoKino in five words.

A very hungry film eater!

How did you like shooting with the LomoKino?

I wouldn’t want to waste film making movies about random stuff, so I plan. I have a LomoKino movie shot using Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 and I love it. Cross-processed Lomokino movies are the best! I’ll make a black-and-white movie with the LomoKino soon!

What or who has inspired you to purchase and use the LomoKino?

Nobody actually inspired me to purchase the LomoKino. When I first saw it, I was really excited to try it because it seemed kind of impossible for this little black box to make movies. Since it wasn’t so expensive and I had a lot of Piggies in my piggybank, I bought it.

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had with it?

The first time was awkward (and fun!) My first LomoKino movie was done with my brother starring my sister. Loading the film into the LomoKino for the first time was hard to be honest. But I managed to load it anyway.

We had fun shooting! I shot the first half of the movie and my brother did the last part. We didn’t notice when the red flag came out and we kept on turning the crank until we realized something was wrong and we took out the film. When the film came back from the lab, we found out that some of the last part wasn’t in the film negative strip.

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LomoKino, who would it be and why?

I would love to shoot a music video for Marilyn Manson!

Kindly share to us any LomoKino movie you love the most.

I love this movie very much. Very dreamy.

Any future plans with your LomoKino? More shoots or a full-length film perhaps?

I’m planning to make a short film in black and white. I’m also looking for someone to make a LomoKino double with me! Message me if you’re interested!

Your advice to future LomoKino users.

Feed your LomoKino with expensive slide film. You will love the results!
