Tell us about yourself – What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

I’m an Assistant Underwriter for an insurance company. I’m interested in a lot of things – music, art, sports, literature, history and travel. Most of my free time is spent on photography (both analogue and digital) and of course, Lomography. I always have at least two cameras in my bag.

How long have you been a Lomographer and how did you find out about the Community?

I believe it was January 2012 when I purchased my first Lomography camera – a rockin’ orange Sprocket Rocket. My best friend was looking for an extra lens for her Diana, which she brought from a bookstore. I went to the Lomography Gallery Store Toronto and the rest is history.

Winning Photo for the Coast to Coast Rumble

Please tell us about your winning photo for the Coast to Coast Rumble, and how it got started.

That was actually a happy Lomo accident. I was taking a picture of the scramble at Yonge & Dundas and forgot to advance the film! With the streetcar in it, it ended up having a very downtown Toronto feel.

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had in Toronto with your Lomography Cameras?

Nothing too crazy except for stares and more stares. Bigger stares and longer looks when I walk around with my bestfriend with her own Lomography cameras.

How many Lomography Cameras do you own?

Last count, 8.

What is your favorite camera?

Diana Edelweiss, although the Sprocket Rocket comes in a close second.

Describe that camera in 5 words.

Quirky. Talented. Moody. Square. Austrian!

What’s your favorite photo you took with that camera and why?

The very one that I submitted. It is very much the essence of lomography.

Which area is your favorite place to take photos in Toronto?

Anywhere downtown – usually industrial type sites, pipes, and random things on the street that I find amusing.

Could you tell us your next adventure idea? Which Camera to take, which film, what kind of photo?

Sprocket Rocket. XPro 100. Chocolate Hills, Philippines.

What is on your next Lomo Wish List from our shop?

Horizon Perfekt!

Your advice to future Lomographers:

Bring film everywhere.
