LomoAmigo Wild Evel Shoots with the Diana Mini

Meet our newest LomoAmigo Wild Evel, not only is he a Rock and Roll singer who multi-tasks as lead for several bands, he is an artist with a mission. We gave him our dainty Diana Mini, and he produced some heavy hitting shots. Read after the jump for more!

Name: Wild Evel
Age: 32
City: Vienna
Country: Austria

Tell the community a little bit about yourself? What do you do for fun and is it the same thing you do for a living?
Ok! I´m Singer in The Garage Rock Band The Incredible Staggers and I also sing and play a Nasty Vintage Farfisa Organ in Wild Evel & The Trashbones, also a Primitive 6ts Garage Punk Band! Both bands are based in Graz, so i´m traveling alot between between these 2 cities!

I´m about to finish studying Painting on the Academy for fine Arts/ Franz Graf – Daniel Richter Class. ! I make a living by playing Rock and Roll, Painting and Illustrating and DJing! So yes, I do get money for fun every now and then! haha….

How long have you been a Lomographer (or are you new to this whole thing)?
I´m Lomographer since about one and a half months and I have known about the Lomo LC-A since the first Art school I went to, which was about 15-14 years ago!

What is the definition of analogue lifestyle to you?
It´s Real! You can touch it! You work on it with your Hands! Its just like Rock and Roll!! Best way of recording band sessions, best way of photography! Back to the Roots…

What is so appealing about the Rock’n’Roll lifestyle?
Being different, living a different life! Touring for nearly 10 years from USA to Mexico to the UK, all over Europe to Russia…. and more to come! Meeting same minded people all over the world! Going out there and screaming your soul out of your body, wrecking the stage, going mental and having a good time with the fans and friends! Kicking the square butts…

I got infected with Rock and Roll as a little boy through the Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Tommy James & The Shondells… all records from my parents! My brother was a big rocking influence too back then.

What is your advice to future cavemen and rock’n’rollers?
The more stupid it is the more people will like it!! Rock and Shock…

How does your music influence your photography, and vice-versa?
I think it´s clear to see on my photographs and the people in them! It´s connected quite well, but I also shot pics of my sister and mum on our holiday in Greece while hearing Wild Garage Punk Rock and Roll of course hahaha…

Could you tell us more about your current projects?
Currently I´m working on the first LP of Wild Evel & The Trashbones! We recorded 21 original tracks and we´ll have to decide which songs we´ll put on the first record. It´s gonna be a hard decision!
I also just released a picture shape single with the Staggers. The record is in the shape of a monster head that I drew myself – limited to only 300 pieces.

At the moment I´m painting a picture for Steve from the Satelliters… Just the usual stuff… Maybe Trashbones Mexico Tour in Novemeber, just figuring that out! More Touring, Touring, Touring…

Describe the Diana Mini in five words:
Crap, Shit, F**k, Tremendous, Marvelous

How did you like shooting with the Diana Mini and what were people´s reactions to the camera?
It´s exciting and lots of fun ‘cause you don´t know what’s on the film, just like in the old days! Sometimes also a little bit uncomfortable cause you never know if there is something embarrassing on it. Experimenting with the color filters and layers of photos is exciting. People’s reactions were absolutely great! Really, people even thanked me for wasting a pic on them with a “real camera” or tried to look extra good. People love it! No matter if they’re young or old. My grandfather was surprised that I shoot analog again… and told me stories about when he was developing pix himself in the 50’s and 60’s and hand-couloring them. I really like these kinds of photos. And the Diana Mini also has a vintage look in the pix. Cool Shit!!

The strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/ Lomographic encounter that you have ever had.
Since I just started, the funniest thing was the night with Los Explosivos in my Flat. Cooking food with my Machete or the whole weekend with the Trashbones in Brighton. I had lots of good experiences there with the cam!

If you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your Diana Mini , who would it be and why?
Hard decision between Screamin Lord Sutch, Lux Interior, Joey Ramone…. they are all my heroes!!

If your photos shown here could have a soundtrack of three songs, what would they be (song title & artist please).
I’m gonna do some self commercial here! haha…
Wild Evel & The Trashbones: Let´s Go Right Now
The Incredible Staggers: Zombies of Love
Dead Boys: Caught with the Meat in your Mouth

Your advice to future Diana Mini shooters.
Don´t forget to take the lens cap off….

PS: Don´t twist the film too hard! I ripped off two films in the camera! Grrrrreat shots were lost! Be gentle with it!
