Her very first photo shoot was while interning as a stylist with RANKIN at his Dazed & Confused headquarters 7 years ago; she didn’t know who he was. Since then though Kit Lee has built up an impressive reputation as a fashion stylist’s assistant, up and coming stylist and blogger, that allows her access to some of the most glamorous fashion shoots and catwalk shows in the world. Her blog Style Slicker has been recommended by Vogue Italia, and she also contributes to POP. Now she shares with us some of her very favourite shots.

Tell the community a little bit about yourself?
I’m a freelance Fashion Assistant, Fashion Stylist, Documentary Photographer and a Fashion Blogger based in the creative city of London. My idea of fun consists of photography or lomography on (behind the scenes) fashion shoots and social events, it keeps my creativity going and it’s also part of my job.

How long have you been a Lomographer or are you new to this whole thing?
I have been a Lomographer since 2006, I discovered Lomography whilst reading Mandy Chiang's photo blog, she’s a pop artiste and actress in Hong Kong known for her love of Lomography and she owns a Holga camera. I then did some research online and realised it was a huge thing so I purchased my first Smena 8M. My addiction grew and i bought more lomo cameras…I never look back.

What’s the story of this amazing shot?
I was assisting Fashion Stylist Marcella Martinelli for a Quintessentially magazine shoot on location in a windy, deserty, eerie, full of OAPs kind of seaside-village in Dungeness, south of Kent. I was shooting behind the scenes with two of my Lomography cameras and had one shot left on the Lubitel Universal 166, I was holding a pair of Christian Louboutin heels under my arm for standby. With minutes to spare I placed the shoes in the middle of the road and took a shot. Was I pleased when the shoes shot came out? Oh yeah! I posted the image on my blog Style Slicker and within two days I received over 140 comments and it’s one of my most popular posts ever. I’m thinking of having the image enlarged, framing it and give it the Christian Louboutin Press Office in the hope they would notice my work.

Shot with 2 cameras; Lubitel Universal 166 – Fujichrome Provia 120mm 200 iso, cross-processed. Smena 8M – Same 35mm 200 iso, cross-processed.

What happens in an average week for you and your cameras?
When I’m not shooting behind the scenes or assisting, I meet up with friends/bloggers to chit chat, eat and waste some film rolls.

What would your dream shoot be?
I have two. One is to shoot promotional pictures for Daft Punk, I’m a massive fan of their styling and music. Two is to shoot backstage at Christian Dior catwalk show in Paris Fashion Week.

What was the strangest, funniest, or hands-down greatest photographic/Lomographic encounter you have had?
My Yashica FX-3 Super 2000 camera, my sister gave it to me. My sister was an Arts Foundation student at Central Saint Martins, she borrowed the camera from the photography department for her portrait project. A year later after she graduated she forgot to return it and it was left on the book shelf covered in dust for 4 more years, she was meaning to return it back she assumed they forgotten about it so she gave the camera over to me, I squealed with joy! Shhhh..

If your photo selection had a soundtrack what would it be? (3 songs title & artist please)
1. ‘Around The World’ – Daft Punk
2. ‘Wonderful Life’ – Hurts
3. ‘Overpowered’ – Rosin Murphy.

What else is on the agenda for you?
I have a couple of collaboration projects lined up with major design houses which I’m looking forward to, can’t say Shhh.

Awesome shots! The reportage ones are probably better than the ones the "real photographers" were shooting :)
