Summer Hot Spots: Escaping the Heat at Cameron Highlands

It’s normal during summer to be out there at the beach, sunbathing and getting yourself a nice tan, but in Malaysia, it could get pretty hot this time of the year. With the rising temperature, my friends and I decided to escape the heat of the city for a while and took an approximately three-hour drive to Cameron Highlands.

Cameron Highlands is one of Malaysia’s most extensive hill stations, with its boundary stretching from Kelantan to Pahang. Getting to the highland is easy. There are two ways to go there: either via Tapah on a winding road; or Simpang Pulai, which is a newer and smoother way to the highland. There are long distance buses that go to the highland as well.

It was a really sunny day, and one of our stops was the Lavender Farm. There are all kinds of flowers that can be found here – lavenders, sunflowers, gerberas, and a lot more. The cool temperature here is a perfect environment to grow these flowers. The temperature is always just right – not too warm nor cold.

The other must-visit spot is the Boh Tea Farm. Feast your eyes on the lush, green tea farm while enjoying the scones, cakes, and fresh tea served at the café perched right on top of the hill.

It is just the perfect setting for anyone who would want to do some reading or even just relax their mind.

So the next time you are wondering where to go with your friends, do consider Cameron Highlands!
