LC-A Goes To: Vienna, Austria

Vienna is not only the capital and largest city of Austria; it's where the Lomography headquarters is based, too! Join us as we explore this lovely city through handpicked lomographs taken by our community members using their trusty LC-A and LC-A+ cameras!

Perhaps you’ve heard about Vienna as a lomographer – after all, it is the home of Lomography. Or, it could be through a myriad of pop culture references in books, music, and film. The history of Vienna stretches back to a far 500 BC, which is why it’s no surprise that the city is steeped in a rich, unique, and fascinating culture and history that has inspired artists of all generations.

Vienna has been touted as the City of Music and City of Dreams – the former, because of its renowned musical legacy (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Shubert, and Joseph Haydn are but a few of the musicians who have worked at the city), and the latter because the father of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud was from there. Vienna plays host to some of the most majestic architectural feats and tourist spots in the world. You can find here the Historic Center of Vienna, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Schönbrunn Palace, Giant Wheel, Vienna State Opera, St, Stephen’s Cathedral, the Secession Building, numerous theaters and opera houses, museums, and parks. The city is famous for its cuisine and and coffee houses as well.
