One of the first and most popular night markets for foodies in the Philippines, Mercato Centrale has been the go-to place for those in search of gastronomic adventures and tasty tidbits in Metro Manila.
Among the things we Filipinos find utmost joy in is good food, so I didn’t find it surprising that a local food blogger started organizing a night market for foodies in 2010. Called Mercato Centrale, the weekend lifestyle and food market pops up every Friday and Saturday in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig from 10 PM to 3 AM, making it a popular spot for unwinding and bonding with friends and family after work. If the market’s name seems popular, that’s because it was inspired by the Mercato Centrale in Florence and Borough Market in London.
I started visiting the food fair a year after it opened, and I must say I really enjoyed the sights and smells of all the mouth-watering goodies from each food stand. There’s something for every foodie with a discerning taste: burgers, sandwiches, sausages, rice meals, tacos, Japanese food, drinks, and desserts! All you have to do is to follow your nose and let your grumbling tummy lead the way!
