We recently interviewed the staff of Elvis Lives in Rome, Italy, and learned so much on what this awesome shop is all about.
A distinctive feature of the project Elvis Lives is the desire to combine the graphics with the sale of independent brands offering products accessible to all. The multi-faceted and multi-functional environment is a forge of creativity as well as selling point. On one hand the graphic design offers classic products such as logs, flyers, brochures and more; on the other hand it’s constantly looking for new ideas, experiments and collaborations with young designers.
In the shop you can find a wide selection of the best independent brands from the capital ranging from t-shirts to extravagant accessories, not to mention the analogue Lomography cameras, a wide selection of watches including the Casio Classic line and sought after glasses Super. The colors and decor are deliberately kitsch in character, perfect for hosting exhibitions, performances and appetizers.
Which one is your favorite Lomography camera and why?
Until yesterday we supported the SPROCKET ROCKET, but today we have to say the KONSTRUKTOR. First because you have to assemble it by your self, secondly because you can customize it and third because you have to assemble it by yourself.
The weirdest Lomographic experience you have ever had?
In a workshop organized with the guys from Lomography, one of them, to close a beautiful day with glory, has split in two the toilet bowl.
What’s the dorkiest question anyone has ever asked you in the store?
Well, here we made a list:
1. Indicating the camera Holga: “How much is the bottle?”
2. After a 30-minute explanation: “Ok, I got it but from where can I see the picture?”
3. “Those cameras are really nice, are they working?”
“And the flash is working as well?”
The most beautiful place to take pictures with your Lomo cameras?
Everywhere as long as there is a “nasone”, which in Rome are the public water fountains.
