Lomography Day Trips: London, United Kingdom

London is a city that needs no elaborate introduction -- as one of the leading cities around the globe in terms of commerce and finance, education and healthcare, entertainment, fashion, arts and culture, and tourism, it's no wonder it's the most visited city in the world!

Located in the south of England, London is home to a lot of famous landmarks such as the Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square and Greenwhich, the site of the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude).

But just like any other city, London has a few more sights and sounds and tastes to offer aside for the usual tourist fare. Here are just some of them:

It’s common geographical knowledge that the River Thames flows through the city, cutting London into two. But as the river branches off into smaller canals and waterways throughout the city, not a lot of tourists realize that these riverbanks can paint a pretty picture too.

(Although, if you insist to stay within the River Thames, that’s okay as well!)

London also boasts the oldest underground railway network in the world. With such a title, it’s not difficult to imagine the adventures that one could get into. Fancy exploring the old tube stations?

For your inner thespian, perhaps a trip to the Barbican Centre can provide some inspiration?

Or how about London’s West End?

Did we miss your favorite spot? Then tell us! If you’d like to share your favorite location, and see it published here in the Magazine, feel free to send them in as a submission!
