Graffiti Art in Paris

If you like Street Art, you should definitely stroll around the 20ème arrondissement in Paris. The French capital has a very active street art scene with it artists internationally-known and admired. But if you are looking more, and specifically for graffiti, you will love to visit la Rue Dénoyez.

If you like Street Art, you should definitely stroll around the 20ème arrondissement in Paris. The French capital has a very active street art scene with artists internationally-known and admired, and the 20ème is very rich in it.

But if you are looking more, and specifically for graffiti, you will love to visit la Rue Dénoyez. This street is in between Rue Ramponeau and Rue de Belleville and it measures 156 meters long. It’s famous for its colourful graffitis and agitated night life. Maybe it’s a heritage from a famous tavern from the 1830’s that gave its name to the street – “La taverne Dénoyez”.

It was in between the years 2000 and 2010 that the street started being covered more and more with graffitis from different artists. Today ,if you talk about graffiti in Paris: “C’est un lieu uncontournable”!

There are many websites about the Rue Dénoyez and about the artists that do graffiti there. I first heard about it through some friends that are into graffiti, and when I first visited it I had my Lomo LCA+ and a roll of Afga Vista Plus 400.
