Having a long holiday? Why don't you try visiting my hometown, Blitar, East Java?
Blitar will always be one of my favorite cities to visit. It is located in East Java, Indonesia. My parents were born there, so sometimes, we spend the holidays there. It’s also more memorable since I spent some of my childhood there. Every moment I spend there is always wonderful.
It’s like an escape from the city — see the scenery change from buildings and cars, to tress, old-fashioned buildings, pedicabs, and fresh air all around.
There are many places that are great to visit. There’s a souvenir shopping district, a lake and a dam, some temples and monuments, like the Penataran Temple.
The roads are not crowded like the ones in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. You still can feel the fresh air here, and you can feel it when you explore Blitar with a pedicab or a bicycle.
The buildings are a sight to the eyes, with unique and old-fashioned architecture. Some government buildings are even decorated with traditional architecture so they look like a temple.
Blitar can be reached by train from Jakarta or Surabaya, so it’s easily accessible. So, what are you waiting for? Bring your lomo camera, and capture great memories here.
