This year we visited the same country and city twice. Where is this city? It’s none other than Bangkok, Thailand.

I’ve been to Bangkok, Thailand a couple of times before, so I know what to expect, especially at the airport. As such, it can be a challenge to photograph a location that you’ve photographed a couple of times before. But at the same time, this is where the fun begins. It makes you look at things from a fresh perspective.
Earlier this year I wrote about my last shooting opportunity in Bangkok, which was at the Bangkok International Airport, also known as Suvarnabhumi Airport. The last time I was there I used a Black & White film to capture the sights of the airport.

But this time I chose to use a color slide film to give a different perspective. Knowing that I’m shooting with a slide film, I deliberately looked for new features and decorations that would contrast my other album.

As expected, to keep things fresh and relevant, an airport decor would be changed regularly. I was lucky to see some new additions.
While I did see some regular fixtures, it was good to see some new displays at the departure area.
After the immigration, who could miss the iconic statue and art display, which has become a ‘must-have’ photo for many tourists.
It was good that we were able to reach the airport fairly quickly again as it gave me ample time to shoot my last roll there.
We didn’t meet any major traffic jams other than a getting out from out hotels driveway. So we were pleased that our journey was smooth, which was a great way to end our short but wonderful city holiday.
