台湾各地都有许多老房子，在详尽的规划下，常常给予老房子一个新生命。台北公馆一处小小的山坡地，有成群的老矮房，这个区域被称为「宝藏岩」。
过去宝藏岩实为人居住，部分居民已迁移，而这里被规划为艺术家驻村。里头有小咖啡馆，艺术家工作室，到处可见到具有创意巧思的美景，这里的老房子说着一段又一段动人的故事。
台中火车站，最近有一栋火红的老建筑，保有过去日式旧医院老砖房的外型，里头被装修得如电影场景般富丽堂皇，葫芦里卖的是好吃的糕饼及冰淇淋，它就是「宫园眼科」。老房子摇身一变，医院变商店！
