The Arpoador Rocks in Rio de Janeiro is one of the most beautiful places in the world to watch a breathtaking sunset.
It is located in between Copacabana and Ipanema Beach, and you will have an excellent view of the “two brothers” (Dois Irmãos) – two mountains that are, beside Sugar Loaf and Christ the Redeemer, which are characteristic of Brazil’s most beautiful city.
As the sun sets quite early all year round in Rio, I’d recommend that you look for a comfy place on the rocks by 5.30pm. From there, you can watch the sun disappear behind the “two brothers”.
And as it is fairly warm all year round, you can swim in the sea as well after the sun has set, and end the day with coconut milk and Caipirinha, in one of the many beach bars.
