Pancakes by the sea, is as the name suggests, right by the water at The Entrance on the New South Wales Central Coast. I headed there with some friends one sunny morning and almost went into chocolate overload. It is everything you expect from a pancake restaurant and more!
What can be better than on a sunny Sunday morning heading down to a lovely spot by the water surrounded by others like you, taking it easy and munching down on some sweet, sweet pancake-y goodness. Not too much if you ask me!
Situated in a central location right by the Tuggerah Lakes Memorial Park, the Pancakes by the Sea building isn’t fancy, but inside it is decorated nicely and very clean. It has plenty of seating inside and out, and myself and three friends easily found a table. The service is quick and the servings are generous and well presented.
Things on the menu include the ‘Big Breakfast’ with toast, sausage, eggs, grilled tomato, mushrooms, and bacon. There are many types of crepes, savory and sweet, and I’ve heard very good things about their lemon scones. I went with the ‘Chocolate indulgence’, chocolate buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries, chocolate ice cream, and loads of hot chocolate fudge. I’m a chocoholic, so this meal teamed up with a chocolate milkshake went down well but I wouldn’t suggest it for the faint-chocolate-hearted! Afterwards, I would definitely suggest going for a walk by the water and walking off some of those calories!
