Cameron Highlands: A Little Taste of the Countryside I

Cameron Highlands is a great hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. First developed by the British in the early 1920s, it is home to the famous 'BOH' tea plantation; Cameron Highlands is situated at the northwest of Pahang.

The highlands got it’s name from a British surveyor, William Cameron, in the early 1880s. The highlands is surrounded by winding roads, lush greenery, and beautiful scenery. While you are there, stay in Ye Old Smokehouse, a colonial-style bed and breakfast.

It’s laid-back atmosphere, English colonial-style deco and award-winning gardens will charm you. Spend an afternoon exploring the gardens in the smokehouse – they are award-winning and highly popular amongst locals for wedding shoots!

Take some time to relax and unwind on the swings in the front yard and bask in the warm sunshine and cool air.

You should also visit the rose valley, which houses an impressive 450 varieties of roses, as well as other types of flowers and shrubs.

When you’re tired, head back to unwind over some scones and tea. Whatever city break it is you’re looking for, if you love nature, you won’t be disappointed at Cameron Highlands.
