Fine sand, deep blue waters, and gorgeous sunny days - all make up the description of Sherwoods Beach, in Waimanalo, Hawaii. Can you imagine relaxing on cloud-like, fluffy sand, as the shoreline gently breaks in a melodic rhythm, singing you to sleep?
Sherwoods Beach is a section of the eastern shoreline on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It is known for its great camping grounds, amazingly turquoise waters, and its laid back community of Waimanalo.
Personally, this beach is the only place on the island that I have ever been able to fully relax and fall asleep at, feeling completely in paradise. The sand is incredibly fine – which may be a problem for some opinionated folks, but to me, it feels like lying down on heavenly clouds, which help me forget the stress of the day and enjoy the beach fully.
My friend’s cousin had a small wedding at the beach, and it was spectacularly beautiful. Even though there weren’t many decorations or lots of people, the wedding was intimate, and the beautiful Sherwoods Beach area complemented the bride and groom’s natural looks – they both went barefoot, too!
Sherwoods was perfect to take pre-wedding photos at, with the amazing mountain backdrop and the stunning blue waters framing the side of the photo. The couple thoroughly enjoyed walking on the sand, holding hands and kissing, and the sand color perfectly contrasted with their all-white attire.
Sherwoods is also known for its trees that don’t look quite like most of the trees around the rest of the island – and especially don’t resemble anything like palm trees. In fact, the tall, willowy trees at Sherwoods remind me of something that would be in the snowy mountain areas of the mainland.
All in all, Sherwoods is a picture-perfect beach that is not so well-known or tourist infested as others, but I truly always enjoy visiting the area because of its pure sands and waters.
