Fisheye Baby 110 Destination: Vanishing Venice

The Fisheye Baby 110's pocket size makes it the ideal travel companion. Why not visit the car-less city of Venice with it? It's unlike any other city you'll visit and every step you take deserves to be recorded. Click, click, click away in the city of the Grand Canal!

If you’ve been to Venice then you can testify that it is a city of unique charm and beauty where the only traffic you’ll encounter is that of small motorboats (if you’re on the Grand Canal) and that of leisurely gondolas on the tighter, more intimate canals.

Venice’s history permeates the city from the marble adorned Basilica of St. Mark to the palaces which dot it, there’s something to stop, stare at, and photograph at every corner. You’ll find charm in almost every alley you walk through and get lost in – and now that I’ve mentioned it, it is awfully easy to get lost in Venice. Luckily there are signs pointing you in the right direction at almost every corner. Plus, rest assured that you’ll never be alone on a street in Venice. There will always be another tourist equally or more confused than you are.

Speaking of tourists, at any given time of year, Venice is packed with people from all different corners of the world. You’ll notice this by the languages you hear whilst walking past. Everyone wants to visit Venice at one point or another and there’s really no blaming them for it. It’s beautiful and there’s just so much to see and experience. Venice is a city where art will greet you at every step – but this is especially the case in the months during which it hosts the Art Biennale.

If you’re interested in art yet happen to visit when the Biennale is not on, there’s still plenty to see. You can head to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Punta Della Dogana or Palazzo Grassi. There will surely be something there to inspire your creative senses.

If you’re not that into art, then why not head to the island of Burano and point your Fisheye Baby 110 at one of the colourful houses there instead?

There will always be something to fall in love with in Venice but don’t delay if you’re thinking of heading there. It’s been said that the city is slowly sinking into the lagoon – and who knows what day will be the last? Whenever you decide to go, one thing’s for certain, don’t forget your Fisheye Baby 110!

The Fisheye Baby 110 Cameras are fully working miniature versions of the Fisheye No. 2 designed especially to fit 110 film. They capture the world in full circle and enable you to produce perfect Fisheye pictures. The Fisheye Baby 110s come with a bulb mode and are able to capture multiple exposures too. Load them with Lomography Orca B&W 100 and dive into the long forgotten world of 110 photography! Head to the 110 Camera Microsite for more information.
