Celebration Square is one of Mississauga’s newest recreational additions. In 2011, it replaced the original scenery, a plainer and paved area for people to walk around in. Now, it has an impressive stage, open space, picnic tables, and a great way to just relax and enjoy the weather, be it hot or cold.
The square is divided into two major areas. One area is the pool in front of City Hall, where in the summer, is a great atmosphere for families to bring their kids in and splash around. In the winter, the pool becomes the focal point of the community where citizens old and young can enjoy the brisk weather by skating.
The second part of the square features a big grass area with multiple uses. It is a greenscape portion that people can sit and relax on while watching live on-stage shows or late night movie screenings on the massive screens.
The outskirts of this square are lined with patio seating, benches, and seasonal umbrellas. It’s a great place to sit, relax, and mingle whilst enjoying the ever-growing beautiful Mississauga skyline.
It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re ever around town!
