When was the last time you went cosmic bowling? The best alley on the island of Oahu would have to be Aiea Bowl - it's recently renovated, has great food, and the lanes are nice to bowl on. Aiea Bowl is a winner!
Aiea Bowl is located in, well, the town of Aiea, in a convenient complex that also has Starbucks, a public library, lots of food places, and a grocery store. There’s a lot of parking, too. But because the bowling alley has such great conveniences and is so nice, the lanes are usually crowded, and sometimes there’s a waiting time to get in.
Aiea Bowl has a great restaurant that’s built into the alley, so you can order food, sit down, chow away, then move on to your games! It’s a great combo of fun, food, and friends. You can also buy drinks and bring them to your alley while you play.
Cosmic bowling, for those who might be living under a rock, is when the bowling alley usually shuts down the regular lights and uses black light for illumination. There are also flashing, colorful lights that make the scene more full of energy. Also, white things glow in black light…so don’t forget to wear your white t-shirt or pants! It’ll light up!
My friends and I went to Aiea Bowl over winter break and spent hours just knocking down some pins, as best as we could. We got to our lane after waiting awhile, so we were ready to just start. There are about 20 lanes, and you can make teams to go against each other. We did boys versus girls!
And what’s even more fun, is that they play really fun music in the background, like pop music and oldies. We got to relax, jump around, dance, and connect. They even played “Party Rock” at one point of the night, and everyone started shuffling!!
Aiea Bowl is always a great choice when you have a big group of friends. After all, who doesn’t love bowling? This place just takes the experience to a whole new level of awesome.
