The newest resort to make a splash on the island of Oahu, Hawaii is the Aulani Disney Resort & Spa! The entire resort is Hawaiian-themed with a bit of Disney magic. We decided to take a mini Lomo-walk through the hotel to check the amazing sights.
Set within the Ko Olina Resort complex in Kapolei, Hawaii, the Aulani Resort is the newest addition. Having opened just this past year, Aulani has garnered much buzz and attention from both locals and tourists alike. All of the buildings are inspired by Hawaiian tradition and culture, which is delicately mixed with the Disney stuff we all know and love.
It was around Christmas season when my friend Marchelle and I decided to check out the resort just for fun. So there were lots of festive and merry decorations lining the rooms and even outdoors. Being there made me feel like such a kid again, especially since the cheery decorations enhanced the mood so much more.
Marchelle and I even saw some Disney characters! I could’ve sworn that I took some photos, but turns out that I didn’t. :( But we saw Lilo and Stitch, Mickey, and Goofy – all wearing Hawaiian shirts and attire! Very fun especially since we’re so far away from the real Disneyland or Disneyworld.
The resort is surrounded by miles of neatly trimmed grass and even a golf course. A mini railroad runs through the resort, and I’ve heard offers rides on Sundays.
Being at the Disney resort is definitely something I’d like to try again, but on an actual vacation. I just know, from the amazing and beautiful things what we saw, that there would never be any lack of fun and good times. And next time, maybe I can take more photos of the Disney characters…maybe even get Mickey’s autograph!
