Lomo Adventures at the Bronx Zoo

Give yourself a break from shopping in New York! Be a kid again, and make sure to be armed with lomography cameras when you visit the Bronx Zoo! One of the best zoological parks in the world, and one of the facilities administered by the renowned Wildlife Conservation Society. The exhibits are all well thought out and place the animals first in both their care and wellbeing.

Built at the turn of the 20th century, Astor Court’s Beaux-Arts buildings are New York City landmarks. At the heart of the park, tour Zoo Center, and take a trip back in time to the Zoo’s earliest days.

The Butterfly Garden is an enclosure where you can make the butterflies sit on your fingers and feed them candies!

Visit the Bronx Zoo Store for some colorful soft toys and souvenirs!

And you can get really close to some of the animals at the Children’s Zoo.

I admit I love shopping in New York, but going to the zoo for a day is a must for your visit in the city.

Stop monkey-ing around for a while and learn about how we can help in saving wildlife too.

  • Go on a Wednesday as it is a suggested donation day! But we paid a bit more to gain access to their attractions for the day.
  • Wear good shoes for walking as the zoo is a huge place!
  • Pack some snacks/drinks and don’t forget, a few extra films.

How to get there:
By Subway: #2 or #5 train to East Tremont Ave/West Farms Square. At street level, walk straight ahead (follow train uptown) on Boston Road 21⁄2 blocks to the Zoo’s Asia gate entrance (Gate A).
