Samcheongdong is located at the Jongno-gu area nearby the Gyeongbokgung Palace, this street has become unique with modern, traditional architecture and Hanok (Traditional Korean House). If you want to have a short escape from the bustling city, I think you should come here to have a leisurely walk.
Along the street you can find cozy cafes, restaurants, shops, art galleries, museums etc. At Samcheongdong, there are some famous galleries such as Kekju Gallery, Gallery Hyundai etc., and for museums you can visit the Toykino Museum, which is a toy museum, World Jewelry Museum, Owl Museum etc. If you want to visit a museum or gallery make sure you come here by noon, because most of them are closed around 5-7pm.
Walking across the road to Samcheongdong from Gyeongbokgung Palace. Nice evening view!
While walking and shooting around, I dropped my LC-A camera on the floor! Ouch, the corner is broken!
Nice boutique shops:
Cafes and restaurants: there are some restaurants, which you can get Korean food as well as western food.
To all coffee/tea lovers out there, you should come here to have a cup of coffee or tea.
There are many cozy cafes here with nice designs and environment, I really love it here!
Something is opening soon…..a naked museum? Wonder what could it be…
After a short walk at Samcheongdong, we headed over to Tosokchon restaurant (close to Gyeongbukgung Palace) to have a very famous and tasty dish, the Samgyetang (Ginseng chicken soup).
That’s my leisurely trip for today. I really enjoyed walking at Samcheongdong, I wish I can spend more time at this place again next time!
