Lapu Lapu City is one of the highly-urbanized cities in Cebu. Separated by far distance we traveled around Cebu by land, air, and sea. Hilutungan's Marine Sanctuary is located south of Scotty's Dive Center and southwest of Olango Island.
With my two best buckos, we headed to Hilutungan Island. The Hilutungan Marine Sanctuary is one of the best diving spots in Lapu Lapu City.
Together with professional scuba divers, I packed my bag with my cameras, and of course my snorkel and scuba mask. It looks like a big aquarium filled with a variety of fishes like the damsel fish and some big parrot fishes are circling around the side of our boat. As we stopped on the first diving spot, I took out my camera to
shoot around.
After a I few shots with my Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim, I rushed to get my bag to look for some films for my underwater toy camera. I loaded the film into the camera, put my scuba mask and snorkel on, and I jumped into the water, cannon ball style.
I snorkeled around the boat and took pictures underwater for two hours. As I finished my first roll, I noticed something fishy…bubbles coming out of my camera. My camera is not waterproof anymore! It has leaks. Luckily I still got to capture some images, a happy accident!
Worried about what happened, we went to a local restaurant to fill our empty stomachs. A variety of seafood was served and I suddenly forgot to worry about my underwater camera.
We left the restaurant and moved to another diving spot. After another two hours of snorkeling, we finally called it a day, with a big smile on our sunburned faces.
