Top Tourist Spot In Seoul: Gyeongbokgung

Gyeongbokgung - one of the top 10 tourist attractions in Seoul, South Korea. Gyeongbokgong, also known as Gyeongbok Palace, is a royal palace located at northern Seoul. It was built in 1395. Gyeongbokgung is the most beautiful and remains the grandest of all five palaces. The name of "Gyeongbokgung" means "Palace of Shining Happiness" in English.

How to get there? You can easily take Subway line 3 and get to exit #5 of Gyeongbokgung station or Subway line 5 and get to exit #2 of Gwanghwamun station with around 400 meters walking distance. It takes around 10-15 minutes of walking from Insadong. I enjoyed the environment while walking towards Gyeongbokgung.

The palace gate opening and closing ceremony and Royal Guard Changing ceremony are held at Gwanghwamun. It’s a demonstration of Korea’s traditional culture. The performance is held between 10am-4pm everyday except Tuesday (closing day) and rainy days. Please refer to this link for the latest information.

The entrance admission is operated under the Integrated Ticket of Palaces. Please refer to this link for more information.
