A New Perspective of Paris: Take the Time to Relax and Chill Out in the Busy City!

The discovery of Lomo love and my Diana Mini in one of Europe's most chilled out cities! The best places to take time to relax and take in the views!

The first stop in a summer of Interailing and traveling Europe…Paris! Not knowing very much about analog photography having not shot a film camera for over 10 years, I hastily ordered a selection of film and the Diana Mini a few days before leaving after falling in love with her good looks and endless photo capability! Paris is the city of many surprises, the main surprise for me being how many amazing places it offers for a good chill out and hangover recovery combined with beautiful photographic opportunities! Paris is a city that should be enjoyed at a slow leisurely pace. The first stop being the Eiffel Tower, Paris’ most photographed attraction. Think Eiffel Tower you think noise, people, tourists, the hustle and bustle. This isn’t necessarily so! The Eiffel Tower is best enjoyed whilst on your back, looking up at its beauty and capturing it on film! Bring a picnic and a bottle of wine, claim your spot under the awesome structure and lie back and take in the breathtaking view!

Next up, another of Paris’ breathtaking landmarks, Sacre Couer! And after climbing all those steps kick back relax, take of your shoes and take in the view! This was the perfect place to get up close and personal with my new Diana Mini, exploring her settings and capabilities! Take the time to shoot the sights, the view, but don’t forget the people! Once you’ve recovered, be sure to check out the beautiful tiny little lanes and shops behind Sacre Couer, the perfect place to pick up a coffee and immerse yourself in Parisian lifestyle!

No matter where you travel in Paris, be sure to take the time out and really soak in the city’s atmosphere. Every place we visited, the Louvre, Centre Pompidou, Arc de Triomphe, and many more they all provided perfect spots to relax in the busy city! Step back from the crazy tourists, pick a spot, and shoot from the hip. Seven months after my summer of Interailing, I found this film still at the bottom of my bag. All my other travel adventures had been developed but as I didn’t even know what X-pro film was at the time, I hadn’t even thought of getting it developed! Since the start of my analog adventure, I have now acquired many cameras but also the ability to develop the films myself! Not bad in seven months!

They say Paris is the city of love and this is true. It formed my newfound love for analog photography and with two Lomography stores, it’s the perfect place to start!

The Diana Mini is the ultra-compact, petite version of the Diana F+. This camera takes soft-focused, lo-fi images in 35mm and allows you to change between half-format and square shots with a flick of a switch. Get your own Diana Mini now!
