I visited the Point Cabrillo Lightouse near Mendocino in California
After spending a couple of days in California, we headed back to Lake County and passed by the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, so we decided to take a slight detour to go see the lighthouse. The area is named after the Spanish explorer, Cabrillo, who explored most of the California coast. The lighthouse has been in operation since 1909 – more than 100 years. It is still a working lighthouse. There is a small museum in the lower-level of the lighthouse and the original lighthouse keepers’ homes with some of the original furnishings are available as small museums and for guests to rent for events like family reunions and receptions.
