Tai Tong, Yuen Long Tai Lam Country Park: Enjoying the Autumn Colors in Winter

Shivering cold winter weather makes one want to stay in the warm cozy bed the entire day. However, there is only one thing that can only be done in winter, and that is to view the autumn leaves and fall colors in Tai Tong!

It is not necessary to go overseas to enjoy scenic fall colors. As long as one is willing to go outdoors, movie-esque scenic autumn reds is within a stone’s throw away. Inside Yuen Long Tai Lam Country Park, there is a section called Tai Tong that is lined with maple trees.

During the fall/winter period, as the weather gets colder, the maple leaves will slowly turn yellow then red, transforming the sky into a sea of golden red. The best time to enjoy this breathtaking view is in December. Besides the great scene overhead, the fallen leaves also add to the late Autumn ambiance.

Besides the maple leaves, the best scenery is right next to you, underneath the maple trees :)

Transportation:
Take the MTR to Long Ping Station. Transfer to K66 West Rail Line feeder bus (from Long Ping to Tai Tong). The terminus is at Tai Tong. Walk along the road towards the direction of Tai Lam Country Park, it will take about an hour of slow walk to reach my shooting location.
