My Bicycle Touring Escapade

My most memorable escapade in the past year was my bicycle touring across Switzerland with my trusty Lomo LC-A and my great Cannondale mountain bike! Enjoy!

Day 1: From Como (Italy) to Luzern by train then from Luzern to Beinwil am See cycling across the nature (46km). The first photo is the little pier in Beinwil am See. It was a sunny day, an almost flat bicycle path with a few kilometers of climb near the hills of Beromunster.

Day 2: From Beinwil am See to Langenthal following the Aar River (see photo below). Almost sunny day, there were a few clouds in the afternoon and a pleasant breeze, great for cycling in the summer, along a wonderful bicycle path without cars and moto! (68km)

Day 3: From Langenthal to Biel, again following the river and with some wonderful piece of nature…in the photo below you can see some wild flowers in a protected angle between wheat fields! Congratulations for the effort made to preserve the nature, great idea! Sunny day in the morning, more cloudy in the afternoon with a thunderstorm when I arrived in Biel! (60km)

Day 4: From Biel to Yverdon. Great stage along a bicycle path across wonderful nature near Marin (see below) and passing across the medieval town of Le Landeron (second photo below) and across the wonderful city of Neuchatel (third photo). (74km)

Day 5: From Yverdon to Lausanne by bicycle. Then, after I have found a hotel, I took a train to go to Vevey, to visit the Museum of Photography (great museum, with the history of the photography and with a demo in a darkroom to learn how to print film with an enlarger!) A very hot day! (28km)

Day 6: There was heavy rain in the morning so I can’t go cycling. I decided to return by train with only a lunchtime break in Olten, see below:

I passed the Gotthard by train and I stayed one night in Airolo in the Italian language part of Switzerland.

Day 7: Time to go home…down from Airolo to Bellnzona, then a visit to the beautiful city of Locarno and after dinner, I took the train to return in Como. (95km)

All these photos were taken with my Lomo LC-A and a Fuji Superia 400 film, well, except the last one because the LC-A does not have a self timer! So for the last photo, a self portrait near Langenthal, I used my Canon Ixus 85 digital camera. Waiting for an LC-A++ with a self timer! Because film is better!

The Lomo LC-A+ is known worldwide for its amazing features: automatic exposure, extended ISO range, and multiple and long exposure capabilities. Get your own Lomo LC-A+ now!
