Walking Around in Ann Siang Hill

There is a well-known hangout place for teenagers, tourists, and working adults in Singapore. It is Ann Siang Hill located somewhere near Chinatown. It is a unique place so I want to introduce it to you guys. Ann Siang Hill (Chinese: 安详山) got its name from a man called Chia Ann Siang (谢安祥; 1832–1892), a wealthy Malacca-born Hokkien Chinese sawmiller as estates there during the early days of Singapore were owned by him. The road links Club Street and Ann Siang Road (安祥路) to South Bridge Road. Most of the houses there were built between 1903 and 1941 which are now restored shophouses today.

Personally, I like the buildings there as most of them still maintain their oriental Chinese designs and that is one of the factors which make the place unique. Being a lomographer myself, I enjoyed my shoot there some time back as I got to see interesting people, objects, and shops. One good thing is that you guys do not have to worry about food and drinks because there are a number of good restaurants and cafes around to satisfy your stomach (I love to eat hahaha). So you guys can enjoy a good meal before/after shooting and what is more, there are a few fashion stores around too (good news for gals?). If you love hawker food, there is a famous hawker place nearby, Maxwell Hawker where you can find delicious local delights!

Besides walking around in Ann Siang Hill, you guys can get to visit Lomography Store Singapore! It is very near Ann Siang Hill so get your cameras ready for shooting!
