Peru is the most impressive country I've ever been to. The most impressive place in this impressive country was Machu Picchu.
Machu Picchu is 6000-year-old ruin built by the Incas. It is located almost 2500 metres above sea level and the closest bigger city is called Cusco. To get to the ruins, you can take the train from Cusco or you can do the Inca Jungle Trail.
I went there by train and arrived in Aguas Calientes, the small touristic village at the bottom of Machu Picchu, in the evening. Then I slept a few hours in a cheap but comfortable hostel. I got up at 4.30am to make sure to catch the first bus to the top of the mountain.

I was totally impressed! Everything looked like in the pictures, even better. I cannot describe how I felt, but it was amazing.

I totally recommend everybody to go to Machu Picchu. I can’t stress often enough how impressive it is!
