Heritage Shoot at Little India

"Eppadi Irukkinga?" It means "How are you?" in Tamil language. The best place to go for a cultural exchange with Indians in Singapore would be in Little India. Little India is an ethnic neighbourhood located near the Upper Serangoon Road and is just behind Tekka Market, one of the famous markets and hawker centers in Singapore.

Tekka is the term used by local Indians here. This is the place where many Indians including those from other countries would gather together, shop for spices and vegetables for their famous dish (Curry), offerings for their religion, cloth for their dress called Sari and many more.

The famous places of Little India are The Tekka Centre, Tekka Mall, Little India Arcade, Serangoon Plaza, and the Mustafa Centre where you can find things like food, clothes, gadgets, watches, jewelry, practically everything. There is a historical temple in Little India called Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple which was built in 1855 and it is open for public viewing. Getting there is easy as there are train stations (Little India) just next to Tekka Centre. This is the best place for street photographers and lomographers as there are a lot of lovely people and colourful buildings.

Do not forget to try their curry if you are visiting Little India!
