New Loon Fung Restaurant in London's Chinatown

When I am in London, I like to visit the busy streets of Chinatown, and Gerrard Street is by far the busiest in terms of restaurants, shops, and throngs of tourists.

Chinatown in London is easy enough to reach from the Piccadilly, Leicester Square, and Covent Garden tube stations. I have been there several times over the last few years and it is always busy, apparently, regardless of what time you visit. I love the way the tourists seem to fill every corner of every street.

I also like how the proprietors of all the various restaurants are out on the street during the evening, showing potential customers the menus they have on offer. The last two times I have been to London, I have eaten at a large restaurant located at 42-44 Gerrard Street called New Loon Fung. We have usually chosen this place as it has been late in the evening and they seem to stay open later than many of the other places. We were also attracted by their set menu, I seem to remember that you can choose four dishes for £18 for two people or something similar. Anyway, it is a good deal and they pay a lot of attention to the smaller details such as carving your crispy duck at your table from fresh.

If I go back to London in 2012 (which I am sure I will), I would like to try a new Chinese Restaurant on Gerrard Street, but New Loon Fung might tempt me in with their tasty menu, and even better offers.
