Travel can come in all different shapes and sizes. In 2011, I was very fortunate that my travel came apple-shaped - BIG apple shaped.

New York City was a massive deal for me and my family. We had been saving up to go for a couple of years and for various reasons relating mainly to health, the trip had been put off a couple of times already. For my Mum and her two sisters, this really would be the trip of a lifetime as they had never been outside of Europe before, let alone somewhere as exciting as New York City. There were six of us on the trip – me, my mum, her two sisters, her sister-in-law, and my 18-year-old cousin Charlotte. Here are some photos of us all on our trip.
We managed to cover so much in the 5 to 6 days due to our strict and pre-planned itinerary and we actually fitted in more than a lot of other people I know who have been to NYC in recent times. We did far too much to list it all here but some highlights for me included:
Taking the open top bus round all the different areas
We did loads of other things too, some that I don’t have photos of, such as seeing Sister Act on Broadway, going over to Brooklyn at night to see the skyline all lit up and lots of evenings sitting out on the patio drinking coffee and discussing our lovely day.
