Raffles Hotel Singapore’s Free All Year Round Art Exhibition

There’s more to Singapore’s iconic Raffles Hotel than its Singapore Slings and famous guests like writers Ernest Hemingway and Somerset Maugham who once graced the hotel.

The obligatory photo

Most visitors would patronize the restaurants, cafes, and shops on the first and second levels.

But if you wander up to the third level, you’ll find a free art exhibition.

Located along the exterior walls of the hotel’s Victorian-style Jubilee Hall, you will find artistic murals depicting days gone by. I suspect that because this is located just outside Jubilee Hall, which is a favourite venue for concerts and events, most visitors/guests will overlook these murals as they are engaged in conversations.

Because I was there on a weekday afternoon when there were no events, I had the chance to really take a good look at the murals and enjoy it as a work of art, rather than just a piece of wallpaper.
