Guide to the Best Flea Markets in the City!

Your guide to the top fleas and markets in New York City! Hands down, my all-time favorite thing to do in the city is exploring all the fleas and markets. New York has every market from indoors to outdoors, antiques to food, and everything in between.

I have shot with everything from my LC-A, Fisheye 2, and La Sardina and here are my photos and top picks of must visit flea markets in the Big Apple.

Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market: Outdoors bargaining for antiques.
Great finds I’ve found: vintage clothes and accessories, toys, doctor’s bag, school desk, vintage cooking utensils, cameras, and cowboy boots.
What’s so great about it? It has some old stuff, and most vendors will tell you the story behind them and bargain with you.
Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5pm, all year depending on the weather
Where: West 39th Street between 9th & 10th Avenues
Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market

Green Flea: indoor/outdoors bargaining at school!
Great finds I’ve found: postcards from all over the world (alphabetized and cheap), old toasters, furniture, clothes, and accessories
What’s so great about it? When other markets are usually closed Sunday this one is open. It is also set up in a school, very nice location. Not far from Central Park West, American Museum on Natural History, and Shake Shack.
Sundays: Open 10 AM to 5:30 PM (Nov.-Mar.) and 10 AM to 6 PM (Apr.-Oct.)
Where: Columbus Avenue between W. 76 & 77 Streets (Upper West Side).
Green Flea Market

Brooklyn Flea: indoors for antiques, modern vendors, food.
Great finds I’ve found: brew your own beer home kit, jewelry, shoes, books, vintage birdcage, Mickey Mouse phone, maps, furniture, and collectibles
What’s so great about it? It was formerly the Williamsburg Savings Bank, it’s worth a visit just to see the gorgeous landmark interior.
Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm
Where: 1 Hanson Place (at Ashland Pl.), Fort Greene
Brooklyn Flea

Union Square Market: outdoors/food!
Great finds I’ve found: flowers, fresh bread, foccacia, cheeses, wine, juices, apples, pies/scones/cookies, apple cider/doughnuts, produce in season, pretzels, and lavender
What’s so great about it? Local produce food vendors! Food demonstrations/recipes.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Where: North and west sides of Union Square Park

Holiday Outdoor Markets: Bryant Park, Union Square, Columbus Circle
What’s so great about it? It is simply great for one of a kind holiday gifts!
(Usually from mid-November to end of December)
